SWP are pleased to be starting another project to develop 12 new properties on an existing site in Oxted. The existing older buildings are to be demolished to make way for four new low rise terraced residential blocks. These are to be traditionally constructed and located to make better use of the site, whilst creating additional parking and a new road access.

The ground conditions are clay and there are a number of trees on the site. These will have an influence on the proposed foundations and piling will be required.

Access was partly from a new road off the main road and an existing turning head was to be enlarged to keep the turning capability and allow for additional parking spaces. The site levels were gently sloping with a few low-level retaining walls being needed.

The drainage was relatively straight forward with the foul water connecting to an existing manhole via gravity and the surface water being directed to a storage tank and discharging to a new public sewer in the main road. Section 278 and Section 38 are required for the works in the highways.

Another compact and brown field site being repurposed for modern housing.
