We have recently completed the refurbishment of the former Lloyds Bank Tower Block located on the Causeway, Durrington for our Client Rocco Homes. The original main reinforced concrete frame was not altered significantly as the large concrete columns were widely spaced for office use. The new apartments were designed to fit around these. The structure was altered to accommodate new lift shafts and a new floor level was added to the top floor in lightweight construction.

We have commenced a new project for South Coast Nursing Homes and Pilbeam Construction to redevelop an existing site in Firle Road, Seaford, to construct a Care and Nursing home. The original building was part demolished and a new two and three storey building will be constructed in its place with landscaped gardens and additional parking.

We have commenced a project for Heathland Homes and Liam Russell Architects to develop a residential site in Hurstpierpoint. This consists of a number of large two and three storey detached houses and garages located around a feature landscaped square. On the adjacent `camp site` log cabins are being constructed with separate facilities blocks, a craft making block, an administration block and soft landscaping.

Chobham Manor remains our largest project to date and is continuing well on site. The buildings of the early phases of this four year project are progressing satisfactorily with some blocks now completed with others catching up quickly. They are located at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park site in London, directly adjacent to the Velodrome Stadium.

We have recently completed two new buildings for Durrington High School. One was a sports Pavilion with chaging rooms, sport equipment storage facilities and a cafe restaurant with large glazed curtain walling looking onto the field. The other was a three storey science block constructed up against an existing building in a very tight courtyard area. This building was linked to the original building directly and via a covered external walk way to adjacent buildings.

Acorn Retail Park in Crawley is nearing completion. This was a design and build contract awarded to Kier by Cantium Developments for three large steel framed food and non food retail units for M&S, Aldi and Smyths Toys. This included associated drainage infrastructure and extensive landscaped car parking areas and a loading bay area for three HGV vehicles.

We have completed another School extension project for West Sussex County Council with The Seaman Partnership Architects at the Desmond Anderson School in Crawley. Constructed by Westridge, the classroom extension block was a hybrid of hot rolled steel members to deal with canopies and cantilevers and Metsec lightweight steel load bearing framing system for the main building structure.
