COMPANY HISTORY AND PROFILE
The Practice has been based in Eastbourne since 1982 incorporated as STEPHEN WILSON PARTNERSHIP LTD in 1997. The Practice has been traditionally strong in the residential, educational, commercial and leisure sectors, and has an impressive list of both developer and contractor clients.
A full range of services in the fields of structural and civil engineering can be provided, together with a comprehensive appraisal and design development service, prior to or post site purchase. In addition, our building surveying section deals with such matters as party wall awards and CDM services.
Computers play a major part in our day to day working activities and we are fully set up to undertake electronic document exchange, via “always on” internet and intranet connections. We utilise such software as Autocad, Masterseries, CSC Software suites, WinDes and Autotrack for both structural and civil engineering designs. We also have a fully operational version of Revit and are involved in several BIM projects on site.
OUR APPROACH
The directors and staff are energetic and enthusiastic, with a practical and commercial approach to the scheming and design of all projects. Directors are always on hand to provide an overview on each project and to ensure that that the client’s requirements are being met. Our memberships of CHAS, BSI, TSO, SECBE, Construction Excellence and Construction Best Practice, ensures that we are up to date with the latest legislation, methods of construction and latest available structural information.
We aim to retain and satisfy our regular developer and contractor clients by paying close attention to their needs and offering a commercially aware service at reasonable cost. All geared towards winning bids in the first instance and delivering economical and practical design solutions for the project on site. We are very proud of our track record. SWP CLIENTS AND SECTORS
As a result of many successes in the design and build sector, Stephen Wilson Partnership Ltd, provides design advice to several national contractors, such as Kier, Morgan Sindall and Balfour Beatty. Regional contractors would include Westridge, Stirland and Sunninghill. These relationships have led to excellent contractor feedback, ensuring that the Practice produces practical and buildable solutions to all construction challenges.
Repeat business with both private and public sector clients is the backbone of the Practice. Key clients would include nationally Taylor Wimpey, Berkeley Homes and regionally Roffey Homes, Wilmington Homes, Cantium Developments Ltd, Davies Street Properties and Eastbourne Borough Council. In the affordable housing market Raglan, Hastoe and London & Quadrant Housing Associations are among our regular clients.
Our non-specialisation has also led to us having knowledge of a diverse range of structural types, such as appropriate for hospitals, schools, offices, residential and care homes, retail, commercial and residential flats and houses.
