SWP are delighted to be working with Westridge Construction for Brighton and Hove City Council in delivering the alterations, upgrades and new sports hall for Hove Park School.
The school will remain open during construction, and it will be an interesting and challenging project to deliver the new sports hall and opening up works for larger existing classrooms.
The existing hall will be partly demolished and the new steel framed hall will be attached to the existing, to create a much-improved indoor sports area. Foundations will be traditional with consideration for the building to be designed for disproportionate collapse where required. The refurbishment will remove existing walls to create much larger learning area for the sciences.
The civil engineering and drainage will need us to tie into the existing school system with suitable attenuation and flow restrictors to ensure that no increased flood risk occurs. The road access and car parking will also be altered and improved.
