We are pleased to have been appointed by Langham Homes on this low rise apartment building project on the site of a former Police Station on Walton Road. Situated on the corner of two busy roads in East Molesey the proposal was to retain the existing Victorian front façade, partly demolish the existing and rebuild new apartments. Additional parking was to be provided at the rear of the site.
The superstructure was load bearing masonry with precast concrete floors and the substructure was traditional strip concrete foundations.
Special consideration was given to the support and restraint of the front elevation and scaffolding was designed to accommodate this whilst the rear of the structure was to be modified.
The civil engineering drainage design consisted of the foul water discharging to a main sewer and the surface water discharging to an attenuation tank and via a flow restrictor.
External works hard landscaping civil engineering was to be a new access road and parking formed in block paving, tanked and discharging to the surface water system.
Site works have now started on this interesting project and more updates will follow.
